Don Roberston is a keen sailor and has raced in events such as:
- Auckland to Suva, Kenwood Cup (Hawaii)
- Transpac: Los Angles to Hawaii, Big Boat Series San Francisco
- Numerous harbour races in Auckland with the RNZYS and RAYC ( Royal Akarana Yacht Club)
Don finally gave up competitive racing for the cruising life, spending 6 years cruising in the Mediterranean. He then cruised from the Med back to NZ (across the Atlantic and the Pacific) twice (on two different boats). All up he has cruised in numerous overseas waters on various yachts.
Don was involved in 1992 America's Cup In San Diego , with Team New Zealand America's Cup 1995 San Diego
He joined Peter Blake on Seamaster with Blakexpeditions and was part of the expedition team to Antarctica and then the Amazon.
Last year Don worked with sailing radio station in Auckland for the 2009 Louis Vuitton Pacific Series and in Nice, November 2009, Louis Vuitton Trophy Series.
When Don's not sailing he's relaxing as a resident of Waiheke Island.
